Battery thieves on the loose in Aloe Park?

Another person living in the same street luckily escaped being a victim of this crime when the would-be thieves could not open the bonnet of the car

It seems that car battery thieves are still on the prowl, but have now targeted a different area.
A resident of Kwaja Street in the Aloe Park area says he was recently robbed of his car battery.

This phenomenon was originally reported as happening in Acaciavale, but now seems to have branched out into the surrounding areas as well.
The Kwaja Street resident woke up early one morning and tried to start his car, but it just wouldn’t roar into life. When he popped the hood, he was astonished to see that the battery was not there anymore.

Another person living in the same street luckily escaped being a victim of this crime when the would-be thieves could not open the bonnet of the car. They ended up damaging the paintwork on both sides of the car.
“We are so tired of complaining to the police, because they seem to have a ‘don’t care’ attitude towards this crazy crime,” said the furious resident.

The last time this crime was reported on in the media, the police commented that it was an isolated incident and not a widespread phenomenon.
Questions now being asked are: “Have the criminals been in hiding and now resurfaced in a different area?” and “Is a strange car batteries syndicate starting up?”

Police have not commented.
