TB kills, but it is curable

Let us support people who have TB and encourage them to take their treatment correctly and finish it. TB can be cured!

It is easy to get Tuberculosis (TB). Please get tested for TB, if you have two or more of these signs:
1) Coughing for more than two weeks.
2) Sweating at night.
3) Losing weight.
4) Coughing blood sputum.
5) Or feeling tired
Go for a test before it kills you. Let us work together to beat TB. Our new taxi (Quantum) has small windows and people like them. It is easy to contract TB because people don’t open windows in taxis. Please open the window in the taxi, even if it is cold. Let us cover our mouth when we cough but not with our hands, use a handkerchief or cough into your elbow.

Let us wash our hands after using the toilet and before eating. Most men don’t wash their hands after using the toilet. People, please let us wash our hands before touching our partners, small babies and food. All shops are supposed to have wipes, even our banks. If wipes are available at a shop, use it and throw it in a bin, not on the floor.

If someone has TB at home, all the household members must be tested, and children under five-years need to get INH (prevention). Local municipalities must provide people with clean water to drink and to wash our hands too. Rural areas don’t have water but this does not mean; don’t wash your hands. You can buy your own wipes. Do you think our local municipalities know the importance of water in our lives? If they know and care about their people, there should not be places without water like Loskop, Bhekuzulu, Ntabamhlophe and Ephangweni.

Please let us clean our shops, homes and ourselves too. The Health Department can provide TB stickers for public transport, public toilets, banks, shops and schools for those who don’t have the information. Let us support people who have TB and encourage them to take their treatment correctly and finish it. TB can be cured!
