Enthusiastic response at scholar blood clinics

Blood Clinic Co-ordinator Mr S Dawoonarain described the two-day scholar blood donor clinics as phenomenal. The enthusiastic response shown towards this worthy cause of blood donation impressed him beyond words. On Tuesday, October 14 the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) made a visit at Estcourt Secondary School, 45 students attended the blood clinic, five of them were welcomed as new blood donors, 31 learners donated life-saving plasma.

Later that day the SANBS team made a stop at Estcourt High School, there 45 pupils attended the clinic, 32 made a blood donation and among those were seven new blood buddies. On Wednesday, October 15, the SANBS staff hosted a blood clinic at Drakensberg Secondary School, 72 scholars attended the clinic, 66 made blood donations and 15 new learners were welcomed as blood donors.

The South African National Blood Service team and Clinic Co-ordinator, Mr S Dawoonarain would like to thank both the learners and school staff for showing such great support and taking initiative towards the worthy cause of saving lives. They would like to wish all learners best of luck for the 2014 end-of-year examination as well as a happy and blissful Diwali to the Hindu community.
