Umtshezi Methodist Choir sings songs of happiness

Umtshezi Methodist Choir has been nominated as one of the best choirs under the Best Church Choir Category

Umtshezi Methodist Choir continues to shine and keep the flag of Umtshezi and the surroundings flying high through choral music. The choir is participating in various choral music competitions and is a two time provincial champion in the Old Mutual National Festival as well as the reigning provincial champion for the Melting Pot Choral Music Eisteddfod.

Participating in these prestigious competitions and achieving good results has attracted the attention of the National Achievement for Choral Music Awards (NACMA), which awards excellence in choral music. Umtshezi Methodist Choir has been nominated as one of the best choirs under the Best Church Choir Category. The awards ceremony will be held at the Durban Playhouse on November 1.

For the nominated choirs to be awarded they must obtain as many votes as they can and the one with the most votes will be awarded on the day. In celebrating 12 years of music excellence, the choir will be hosting a music concert on November 30 at the Estcourt Town Hall starting at 1pm on Sunday.
