Welcome Colita CPF- lawlessness must be dealt with immediately

Maybe the CPF is a blessing; we are still to see what they do.As long as they do not favour wrong acts of certain people in the community

I welcome the Community Police Forum (CPF) sub-forum in Colita and wish them good luck in their task.
In Colita we have problems.People are starting to do exactly as they did in Wembezi in the early ’90’s.

They open gates on the sides of their property leading to other people’s properties and driveways and when you try and reason with them, you do not get good results, instead it becomes worse. They go in and out of our driveways, as they like.

It is not the pedestrians but people with cars. The whole night one has to guard and monitor these people and who they are, even at 2am.They litter the whole night, leaving liquor bottles.

What are people doing after midnight? One has to put two and two together. You do not stop to think about people who are found dead, even in other places, not just Estcourt. If the CPF’s intentions are good let them stop people parking in other people’s areas, day or night.

The hot spot is between number 1 and 3 Sagittarius Road.In the early ’90’s we lost our houses. The councillor in a meeting suggested that the boys should be allowed to cut our fences so that they can easily run and hide from police who were arresting them.

When I came from work, I went to him and tried to talk sense into him but he said it’s either I’m in or out.
The next day when I came back, I found cows grazing in my yard and they had cut the fence, his boys had entered through the window and emptied my fridge.

His fence was intact. Most of the councillors do not want opposition, even now.So people fear for their lives and keep quiet even when things are not acceptable.People left Wembezi in big numbers and that is what’s going to happen in Colita as well.

Maybe the CPF is a blessing; we are still to see what they do.As long as they do not favour wrong acts of certain people in the community. Today the present government is suffering because the policies and Constitution has a lot of loopholes.

The government must teach this generation to define right and wrong. A strong ‘no’ to a wrong is the only solution.
Unless corrections are done, there will never be peace in this country. What happens in parliament is just the beginning. The municipal government must be forewarned.
