Be prepared for icy weather

If you’re travelling this weekend, be cautious

It’s been an icy start to Friday morning and if you have a “berg view from your home, you would’ve seen the snow capped mountains in the distance this morning.
Reports of snowfall in parts of KwaZulu-Natal have been making national headlines and the South African Weather Services has issued an advisory that there is a strong possibility of snowfalls this weekend.
The KZN Midlands, Drakensberg and southern Free State may be affected.
If you’re travelling this weekend, be cautious.
The N3TC has advised motorists to be cognisant of weather warning and if possible, avoid travelling at night.
“Plan your trip well in advance and take every precautionary measure to ensure your own safety. Pack extra blankets, food and refreshments in your vehicle in the event that you may be caught in a lengthy road closure. We will make every effort to keep the route safe under these circumstances,” says N3TC Commercial Manager, Con Roux.
