Comrades quest complete

All five of the Taylor family members finished the race within the 12-hour cut off time, a remarkable achievement

Thousands of runners lined up in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday morning for the 89th Comrades Marathon.
This year’s down run attracted 18 000 participants from around the world, with local athletes also taking on this ultra marathon.
The course is approximately 90 km between the capital city KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg, and the coastal city of Durban.
Bongmusa Mthembu from Nedbank Running Club won this year’s marathon, finishing the distance in a time of 5.28.34.
In the women’s race Eleanor Greenwood from Nedbank International finished the Comrades in a time of 6.18.15.
Known for its gruelling but addictive course, the Comrades Marathon has earned the title of being the ‘Ultimate Human Race’
