Plenty of sporting stars at Sarel Cilliers

The girls enjoyed the tour tremendously. They learned new skills and are eager for the upcoming netball season.

This past weekend, Sarel Cilliers High School played rugby against Ladysmith High School and, as usual, started the NKZN League with some brilliant performances.
The scores were as follows: U/14A 10-5; U/15A 22-26; U/16A 10-5; third team 38-0; second team 31-15; first team 29-14.
Hockey: The U/16 hockey girls from Sarel Cilliers would like to thank Docrat’s Hardware for the new shirts they sponsored. It is much appreciated, and they look great!
Netball tour: On March 28 Sarel Cilliers netball players travelled to Margate for a netball tour. They started off with playing six matches, of which they won five. However they lost the sixth game by a narrow margin. The other days comprised coaching and practising all that they learned.
The girls enjoyed the tour tremendously. They learned new skills and are eager for the upcoming netball season.
S’nothile Mthembu, Nompilo Ndlovu and Zinhle Mkhwanazi received certificates for outstanding sportsmanship. The team members
also received certificates for the Best Spirit.
Hockey against Ladysmith
Na `n week van harde oefening het die O/14 hokkie meisies baie goed presteer. Hulle het 2-0 gewen, en die doele is deur Tsepang Twapa en Nosisa Sibiya aangeteken.
The U/16, second team and first team girls lost their matches, but they played well. The first team boys played well and drew their
match 1-1.
Netball: The Endumeni trials took place on April 10. Congratulations to the following pupils, who are going through to the next round
on May 8 and 9: U/18: S Ntuli, P Mathambo. U/17: T Mazibuko, Z Mgaga, S Buthelezi. U/16: B Shabangu, L Ndlovu. U/15: S Mthembu, T Molefe. U/14: N Dlomo, W Bessah, B Manyoni, S Nkosi, L Zondo. U/13: S Otou-Acheampong.
On Saturday Sarel Cilliers played against Ladysmith High School. All the players did their best, and the U/15As won their match.
Chess: Sarel Cilliers also played against Ladysmith High School. They won one of the eight games that were played, with a score of 1-7.
