Don’t furget about the animals during this time

Food, warm blankets, cleaning items, toys and other treats would all assist greatly in helping the animals at the SPCA

Frustrated by lockdown? You’re not the only one.

But unlike humans, who can take to Twitter to voice their opinions, animals don’t have that luxury. Animals can’t voice their frustration, so they rely on humans to take care of them.

What do animals know about lockdown though, we hear you ask? The animals at the SPCA do!

Every day they’re locked behind gates, socially distanced from one another except for play time. Every day they wonder where their next meal is coming from, or when their lockdown will be lifted and they can move on to their ‘furever’ homes.

The national lockdown also meant that volunteers could no longer visit the SPCA, either to take treats to the animals or to spend time cuddling them. With winter hitting its stride, the animals need your help now more than ever.

Food, warm blankets, cleaning items, toys and other treats would all assist greatly in helping the animals at the SPCA.

Can you be their voice? Can you help? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate, why not consider joining the committee? The SPCA is in desperate need of fresh faces.

Items can be dropped off at the SPCA or the Northern Natal Courier office.
