The Museum needs you for war exhibit

Talana Museum will be opening a new permanent exhibit on the Great War of 1914-1918 this year.
The exhibit will open on 4 August – 100 years to the day war was declared by Britain on Germany in 1914.
“Our exhibit will focus on the Dundee men who went to war, and South Africa’s part in the war,” said Curator Pam McFadden.
Do you have tucked away photographs, portions of diaries, or objects from a family member who was in the war?
“If so, please contact the museum. We are looking for information or interesting family stories, anything that will add to our understanding of what the local people had to endure. This information will be stored in our archives and will then not be lost in the future.
“Should you not wish to donate the items, then we will scan and save them and return the originals to you.”
