No bias for bowlers at Pro Nobis Disability Day

Able-bodied bowlers and non-bowlers took to the greens, to experience what it's like living with a disability.

Mortimer Toyota Business League

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had the last laugh this past Thursday evening, as play had to be postponed due to a thunderstorm. The leader board remains as follows: NEMS (8 +35), Langfontein (8 +25), Sharks (6 +41), BB Transport (6 +31). The final game of the league will be played this coming Thursday evening, with the prize-giving and a bring and braai to follow. Come down to the club and enjoy an evening out.

U-15 and u-20

The under-15s and u-20s travelled through to Klipbank Bowling Club in Ladysmith this past Saturday morning, to attend a coaching course hosted by former Proteas coach, Theuns Fraser. What a privilege it was for the young bowlers – for many a once in a lifetime opportunity! Once the coaching course concluded, a game of ten ends was played, giving the selectors an opportunity to finalise the district sides.

The club congratulates the following young bowlers on their selection for the district sides, which will compete in the Bowls South Africa Junior Inter-District Competition in Bloemfontein in March next year: Sinakho Zulu (u-20 B), Lethukuhle Khumalo (u-20 B), Nthando Madondo (u-20 reserve), Duné Bierbaum (u-15). Congratulations to each bowler and keep practicing!

Pro Nobis Disability Bowls Day

Lots of fun was had this past Saturday afternoon, as able-bodied bowlers and non-bowlers took to the greens, to experience what it’s like living with a disability. Some were blindfolded, others were in wheelchairs, some not able to speak. The club thanks Henning-John Meyer for organising this very important day and the club hopes to make it an annual event.
