Roosboom residents protest about water shortage

They say they haven't had water for ages and are fed up with uThukela

Motorists travelling on the R103 towards Roosboom are advised to avoid this route after protest action took place this morning (November 27).

People in the area blocked the road with burning tyres and rocks, saying they are frustrated with the service delivery from uThukela.

Speaking to area resident Mr Khumalo, he said they have not had water ‘for ages’ and want the mayor to sort out the issue as soon as possible.

The protesters have dispersed, but rocks are still blocking the road.
