Water shortage in Egerton area due to leak

Burst pipes continue to leave homes without water

A water leak in Shepstone Road, near Mkhamba Primary School, has left some houses in the Egerton area with either no water or low pressure this morning (September 28).

According to a resident of the area, the pipe burst on Tuesday afternoon (September 26) and uThukela came to fix it yesterday (September 27).

She said that after they had fixed the leak yesterday afternoon, the same pipe burst again further up, which led to water pouring into their yard. The pooling water is now affecting their boundary fence.

“We are concerned that the water is now starting to come into our house,” said the concerned resident.

uThukela workers came out to see the leak this morning and have committed to fixing it today.
