Cable theft suspects back in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court

Mix up at Ladysmith Correctional Services Centre delays case

Two suspects, who were arrested for being in possession of stolen cables and copper wire, appeared briefly in the Dundee Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 27.

Three of the other suspects did not appear in court due to a misunderstanding with misplaced documents from the Ladysmith correctional services and the case was remanded to July 3 for a  regional prosecutor’s decision.

In another case heard today, attempted murder accused, K Shabangu, appeared. It is alleged that he severely assaulted two security guards after he was caught shoplifting at Shoprite shopping centre.

Shabangu is accused of stabbing both the guards after he was apprehended. He was released on bail and will appear again on July 7 for a Regional Court date. Defence attorney Mello Shabangu represented him.
