A goal for aspiring footballers

In addition to the action on the soccer field, there was also a netball tournament for the girls’ teams to participate in

What started out as a grey and drizzly day turned into a sunny autumn Saturday (May 6), which buoyed the spirits of the participants and spectators at the under 13 soccer tournament.

Dozens of people converged on the Wembezi Stadium for a day of sport, entertainment and fun.

The tournament was hosted by Estcourt Build-It with the idea to encourage sport, which builds character and morals.

In addition to the action on the soccer field, there was also a netball tournament for the girls’ teams to participate in.

The results are as follows:

Riverdale Primary School were the winners of the tournament, with Cornfields Primary as the runners-up.

The ‘best soccer player’ was Xulu Okuhle.

After the netball matches, Cornfields Primary emerged victorious, with Sifisosethu Primary School taking second place.

Zamalinda Hadebe from Ezamukuthula Primary School was named ‘best netball player’.

The Supporters Competition prize went to Zola Primary School, and the Build it Special Award went to Ezamukuthula Primary School. Each school will receive a JoJo tank.
