Sherlene Gericke played her part to help childhood friend Sherillyn by hosting the Sherillyn Dumas Fund-raising Market on Saturday (April 22).
Stall holders from Estcourt, Newcastle and Ladysmith gathered at the Estcourt Methodist Church to be part of the event.
Browsing through the stalls, one could find a variety of items ranging from food to plants.
Although attendance at the market was not as anticipated – people were ill with flu or said it was the wrong weekend – Sherlene is optimistic that she is within reach of her R10,000 target, which will be confirmed later this week.
“The market was good fun; we did it! Thank you to everyone who made donations towards the fund-raiser. It was also an emotional day,” said Sherlene.
She thanks the community and all the stall holders for supporting the market.
