Minister and MEC keep tabs on holiday traffic

A multi-disciplinary roadblock was held at the Mooi River Toll Plaza

Being one of South Africa’s busiest national routes, the N3 sees heightened traffic volumes, especially during holiday periods like the Easter long weekend.

As part of a monitoring and visibility operation today (April 10) a multi-disciplinary law enforcement operation was held at the Mooi River Toll Plaza.

Led by Minister of Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga and KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Sipho Hlomuka, various law enforcement departments descended on the N3.

Passing motorists and vehicles were checked and the government delegation interacted with the motorists and passengers.

This initiative was part of the high impact Easter holidays operations that has been on-going in different parts of the country throughout the weekend.
