Master swimmers bring home the medals

Swimmers brought back gold, silver and bronze medals

Six Master swimmers (25 years +) from Winterton and a swimmer from Weenen took part in the SA National Swimming Championships in Mbombela, Nelspruit, from March 15 to 18.

They were Pippa Brown, Ann Gray, Jani Maritz, Alison McBey, Sally Ralfe and Joan Schiever.

The Weenen swimmer was Susan Rich.

They are all members of the Synergy Masters Swimming Team and all did extremely well, bringing back gold, silver and bronze medals in both the pool events (for individual and relay), as well as the open water event.

The open water event was held at Lake Longmere (Pine Lake Resort).

Two local swimmers, Pippa Brown and Jani Maritz, were in the winning women’s relay team in the open water event.
