Suspect caught by community members
Police arrested the man after they were called to the scene
This morning (March 31) in Kandahar Avenue, community members caught a man whom they suspect has been stealing from areas such as Rose Park, Van Riebeeck Park and Chisty Place.
Residents say they have extensive video footage which shows how the suspect walks into people’s yards and steals items such as gas stoves, garden tools and clothes from the washing line.
The residents say they are fed up with crime and hope that justice will be served in this particular case.
Police arrested the suspect after SAPS and Public Safety responded to the scene.

“We urge people to report matters to the police so that a case can be opened and suspects can face the full might of the law,” said one concerned resident.
