Emergency Services on high alert as torrential downpours persist
Motorists are urged to take precautionary measures while travelling.

Emergency services and Disaster management teams are currently on high alert as the torrential rain causes flash flooding in various parts of Newcastle.
The following areas are currently affected:
– Murchison at Montague flooded.
_Finnemore Street
– Rooibok flooded.
– Amcor Dam bridge flooded.
– Nagtegal flooded.
– Heavy pooling on Hardwick.
– Heavy pooling on Albert Wessels
Drivers are being urged to use alternative routes where possible and to practice extreme caution while travelling.
Furthermore, residents in lower-lying areas are also urged to take precautionary measures as flash floods persists.
