Protesters block Helpmekaar Road
The mayor is expected to address the community soon
Helpmekaar Road is currently closed after angry protesters blocked the roadway in St Chad’s today (January 23).
The protest is linked to ongoing water shortages in the area.
The protesters say that residents of this area have been without water for several weeks now.

“It’s very sad that we don’t have water and nothing has been said to us as residents. What makes things worse is that some other parts of St Chad’s do have water,” said one of the residents.
