There was a happy ending to a missing person’s case when a toddler was found unharmed on Sunday. The policemen who found the little girl were Warrant Officer Nkosi and Sergeant Zulu from the Vryheid Dog (K9) Unit, together with Sergeant Mabanga from the Nongoma Community Service Centre. They responded to a complaint in the Mangonjini area on Sunday after a toddler went missing the previous day at about 13:00 when she was last seen sleeping. The K9 Unit put search & rescue dog ‘Achil’ into action, with wonderful results. The child was found alive and well in the bush, about 2km away from her homestead. She was taken to the local clinic and then referred to Nongoma Hospital for a check-up.
