Children of the world unite for final assembly

It was a special day for all learners, with awards, music and dance

Drakensview Primary School hosted its Junior Primary final assembly recently.

The final assembly is held for the Grade 1-3 learners of the school.

Grade 3 learners show off their special award certificates.

They put on a great show of music, singing and dancing for the parents who attended.

The theme for this assembly was ‘Children of the World’, teaching the learners that no matter what we look like, where we from or how we grew up, we are all the same.

The highlight performance was that of all three grades singing Michael Jackson song ‘Heal the World’.

Olethokuhle Mvelase (Best Story Writer), Anande Dlamini (Top Achiever for Grade 2) and Kaely Naidoo (Most Recycling Collected).

After the spectacular performances, special award certificates for recycling and other achievements were handed out across all three grades.

These awards ranged from excelling in academics and different subject awards to behaviour, perseverance and diligence.
