uThukela staff on strike?

MM says that should any strike take place today, it will be illegal

uThukela Municipal Manager (MM) Mr MB Mnguni has denied allegations that their employees are on strike.

This comes after unverified information has been circulating on social media, claiming that uThukela employees ‘downed tools’ today (November 28).

Mnguni said that, as far as the municipality is aware, workers will be picketing on Thursday (December 1). “Any strike or go-slow taking place today would be illegal.”
