A tale of kindness and acceptance

The book is a magical tale of friendship between an ostracised elderly man and a curious young boy

Luigi Spano is well-known for his thought-provoking poems, but this time he has tried his hand at writing a book. ‘One Act of Kindness’ is Luigi’s first book and it is an illustrated children’s book.

The story is one of magic, kindness, community spirit and acceptance, and is set in a land called ‘Long, Long Ago’. The tale of Giuseppe and Christopher begins with loneliness and sadness, but soon blossoms into friendship and delight, all bound together by the threads of kindness. Luigi hopes that his book will inspire others to also spread kindness in the world – something he has been consciously trying to do as well.

Since his teenage years, Luigi has faced challenges.

“I have fought poverty and racial discrimination from an early age. “The world really is in a mess and I want to try and change it for the better. “I would like to see people respect each other, as they say there is nothing better than one act of kindness,” Luigi says.

He intends on distributing 100 books to schools and emphasised that his book is not about sales.

“I want this book to change young minds and make the world a better place,” he said.

In conclusion, Luigi wanted to share these thoughts with his readers out there: “I have been fighting injustice since I was in my teens, with no fear of death. Death has not phased me; in fact it’s just a new chapter that I’ll be moving into. My childhood dream is to narrow the gap between the rich and poor, and to become the voice of hope in changing an old chapter into a new one. “Unfortunately, the global world leaders have messed up the world, having made the rich richer and the poor poorer. “I’ve recently returned home from abroad and can clearly see that there are no world leaders doing what they are supposed to be doing, and that is bringing prices down, which would be the only way to beat poverty and close the gap between the rich and the poor. “With that being said, being rich is not only the amount of money one has, it’s the love you portray in others that makes one the richest.”
