Locals slip-slide their way to race win
The rainfall the night before made for a wet and muddy course
Racing on home ground proved to be an added advantage for the off-road racing team of Trace Price Moor and Shaun Braithwaite.
They were part of the contingent of drivers, navigators, crew and spectators that attended the Estcourt 200 on October 29, which was the final leg of the racing calendar.
Participants started at Linglela Lodge and navigated their way through a course that was mapped for the ultimate adrenaline rush.
With the wet weather the night before, drivers and navigators splashed their way through mud puddles and dashed along wet tracks.
The spectators who were dotted along the route cheered for the drivers as they streaked by.
Local racers Trace Price Moor and Shaun Braithwaite achieved the overall first position for rounds six and seven. They enjoyed the day out on the course.
“The first lap was wet with slippery conditions, but as the day went on and the sun came out, conditions became much better,” said Braithwaite.
The KZN Regional Off-Road Series is hosted by the Natal Off-Road Motor Club.
