Muggers’ heaven in dark streets

Parts of town are pitch-black at night due to street lights not working

Residents are furious that street lights are not working in Diamana Road, Lancashire Road and Shepstone Road towards the bridge.

The street lights have not been working for a couple of months now, causing these areas to be pitch-black at night, which is dangerous for the many people who use these roads on a daily basis.

“I use Lancashire Road every day when I walk back home from work and many people have been mugged along that road because of how dark it is. You can’t see if someone is sneaking up on you,” said one local resident who wishes to remain anonymous.
