Households sit without water and electricity

It is believed that faulty power cables are the reason for the problem

There is no electricity and / or water in various areas of Ladysmith today (October 9).

This is believed to be due to faulty electricity cables in the Golf Course / Reservoir Hill area.

uThukela District Municipality has said that the following areas are likely to be experiencing low water pressure or no water at all as a result of this problem: Observation Hill, Golf Course area, Limit Hill, Model Kloof, St Chad’s, Area J and Danskraal Industrial.

Electricians are currently at the site, locating the faults in the power lines.

If there is any water coming out of the taps, residents in the above-mentioned areas are advised to store water in containers, as it is not certain at this time when the issue will be resolved.

It has been predicted by those in the know that it could take until the end of the day.
