Grade 5 excursion in the Midlands

An educational trip to the Midlands for the Grade 5s

The Grade 5 class at St Gregory Primary School had a wonderful excursion out in the Midlands on September 5.

The class enjoyed a guided tour through the museum at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site in Howick, where they discovered Madiba’s fascinating life story.

The museum tells Nelson Mandela’s life story, with a focus on the time around his arrest and his subsequent 27 years in jail. The information presents his story in a thoughtful, creative way.

After a quick lunch, the class went to Dingo’s Farm & Reptile Park at Piggly Wiggly, where they were able to spend some time feeding the farmyard animals.

The learners then enjoyed an interactive show, where they were given the opportunity to learn about, meet and engage with some of the reptiles before heading back to school.
