Water disruptions caused by sabotage?

To report water shortages, burst pipes, sewer spillages and vandalism, the uThukelas Call Centre number is 086 010 4257

According to uThukela District Municipality, it has come to their attention that the continuous water disruptions being experienced in communities are as a result of deliberate acts of sabotage by mischievous individuals.

uThukela say that the intention of these unscrupulous individuals is to bring the name of local municipalities into disrepute.

It is further alleged that Department of Water & Sanitation employees based in certain areas held a meeting last week with the express intention of disrupting water supply to communities throughout the weekend.

“If sabotage of this nature is proven to be true, employees will be dealt with accordingly,” said uThukela communications manager Jabulani Mkhonza.
