Shepstone Place fraud case trial date delayed yet again

There was a further delay in obtaining a trial date

It’s been another failed attempt to secure a date for the Shepstone Place fraud case against former administrator Debbie Potgieter.

Mrs Potgieter is accused of misappropriating funds from the institution over a number of years.

Current administrator Roline Vaughan was instructed to meet with a new prosecutor on Wednesday (August 17) to review the documentation, and thereafter a trial date would supposedly be set down.

However, when Mrs Vaughan arrived in court last Wednesday, she was informed that the new prosecutor ‘did not know anything about the case’.

She was advised to expect a call when the prosecution was ready to proceed.

No time-frame was given.
