Street lights not working at Illing Road bus rank

Only one street light illuminates the entire rank at night

The majority of the street lights at the bus rank in Illing Road are not working, which is causing problems for the buses, taxis and commuters.

It seems that only one light is working in the entire rank, so the area is almost pitch-black at night and unsafe for people wishing to board buses and taxis.

Most taxis are now using alternative stops so that they are able to pick up passengers at safer locations such as nearby petrol stations.

Those affected are urging the municipality to look into the situation as a matter of urgency.

“The lights have been an issue for a while now and no one seems to attend to the problem. We are not safe and it is scary for us females at night,” said one taxi-user.
