District first lady leads clean-up campaign

Shabalala was accompanied by ward councillors and community members

uThukela District First Lady Mama SV Shabalala led a campaign to clean up Ezakheni D-Section recently .

Shabalala roped in the youth to help pick up litter and neaten up the place they call home.

Meanwhile, Water & Sanitation Portfolio chairperson Cllr MM Khoza was busy inspecting leaking sewerage pipes in the area, along with engineer Mr S Mabaso.

According to Shabalala, the campaign is ongoing, as they will be travelling to other areas to clean up as well.

During the campaign, netball poles and netball uniforms were handed over to young people. Mama Ndlunkulu (as the first lady is known) also provided young women with sanitary towels.

The district first lady concluded her journey by visiting a young man from Ezakheni D-Section who owns an egg-laying business. According to her, it is evident that this young man needs support to grow his business.
