Helpmekaar Road still closed
The protest started last night and continued this morning
Steadville residents are still blocking Helpmekaar Road as of this morning (July 8).
The roadway is blocked with huge rocks, broken bottles and fires, right up to the entrance of Tsakane. Fires were still being lit this morning.
It seems that the protesters intend to keep the road closed until Alfred Duma Local Municipality attends to their issue of electricity.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
Public Safety officials are currently monitoring the situation.
