Local gay and lesbian community launches forum

The forum was started as a support structure to deal with gay and lesbian issues in the area

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Intersex (LGBTQI) Forum for Alfred Duma Local Municipality held a meeting on Saturday, May 14, to spread awareness and discuss their official launch.

Their plan is to officially launch the forum next month, as June is ‘Gay & Lesbian Pride Month’.

The meeting was held at the Town Hall and was described as a huge success. People from other towns such as Estcourt and Newcastle also attended.

The committee is excited about the launch next month and they are positive that everything will go according to plan. This was the forum’s second meeting, with the first one held last month.
