Long-awaited gravel road project gets underway

The road, in its current condition, has been a concern for residents

During his inaugural speech, Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality Mayor Mduduzi Myeza emphasised that his office will enforce the Batho Pele (people first) principles.

Residents in Ward 14, Ntabamhlophe, were witnesses to this when the mayor and his team visited the community on April 24.

The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the contractor that will be responsible for the upgrade of the Mahliza gravel road.

This road has posed a problem for the residents, especially during rainy periods when access is restricted.

Contractor is introduced

Master Logistic CC was introduced as the contractor and the project is estimated to take six months to complete.

Myeza urged the service provider to make sure that this project is finished within the specified time-frame and further pleaded with the community to co-operate with the contractor, especially seeing that job opportunities will be created through this project.

Sithembuso Sibisi from Meester Logistic CC echoed the mayor’s sentiments, saying that co-operation from the community is key in completing the project within the specified time-frame.
