Police make arrests for drug possession

Both suspects had white-and-purple capsules in their possession

Two drug-related arrests were made by observant police officers on Monday (March 21).

A 25-year-old male was stopped and searched at the Lyell Street taxi rank.

The man had purple-and-white capsules in his back pocket. The capsules are suspected to be heroin and he was arrested.

Later in the day, a suspicious-looking 28-year-old female was noticed lingering in Forbes Street.

Police kept observing her movements and they later stopped her near a school in the street.

A search revealed that she also had white-and-purple capsules in her possession.
