Ezakheni Water Works disrupted due to floods

uThukela apologises for water interruptions in certain areas

The floods caused the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works to fill up with loads of silt and debris. This has obstructed the process.

uThukela has seen three out of the six pumps at the water works failing because of this problem. Their abstraction capacity has been greatly reduced in the process.

A Professional Service Provider (PSP) is currently on site, working to get everything back to normal.

At the moment, there is no clear indication as to when uThukela will be back to normal operations, as the Tugela River is still flooded.
