A photo of a dead black and white pit-bull has been doing the rounds on social media today (January 26). The photo shows the dog lying in the road.
At this stage, it is unknown how the dog was killed.
Close inspection of the photo seems to indicate that the dog is the one from the viral video in which a man was viciously attacked.
Public Safety carried out an extensive search for this dog for almost three days.

The man who was injured in the dog attack is believed to be a foreign national. A friend of his (also a foreign national) says he is in a hospital in Pietermaritzburg after the attack last Saturday (January 15).
According to the friend, who asked not to be named, the injured man is recovering well in hospital.
