Grade 12 learner stabbed at prominent high school in Ladysmith

The SAPS are investigating a case of assault and attempted murder

Learners and parents are reeling in shock after a Grade 12 learner was stabbed this morning (November 11).

At this stage, it is not known whether other learners or people from out-of-school did the stabbing.

It is believed that two or three people barged into the school, forcing their way through the gate and past the security, wielding knives.

The men stabbed a matric learner in the shoulder and then fled on foot.

Police and medics

The Ladysmith K9 Unit and emergency personnel rushed to the scene.

The learner was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital for further medical attention.
