Dam levels looking good for Spioenkop and surrounding dams

With plenty of rain falling last summer, dam levels remained good throughout winter

With spring in full swing, lots of rainfall is expected over the coming months to help improve dam levels.

With plenty of rain falling last summer, the levels in nearby dams remained good throughout winter.

Dam levels

The level of Spioenkop Dam is a whopping 96.66%, with local fishermen enjoying the waters.

Woodstock Dam is on 82.39% and Driel Barrage 79.8%.

Wagendrift Dam is on 94.54%.

Lowest dam

The lowest dam in the province is Hazelmere on 34.05%.

Safety around water

With many people heading out to spend time at the dam and being around water, safety is very important. Never leave a young child unattended near water and never make a child responsible for another child.

Also, always watch the weather before you head out to the dam.
