ESTCOURT KZN: A partnership to sustain the vulnerable

The appreciative recipients came prepared with wheelbarrows, crates and boxes to pack the items into before making their way back home

Sighting the familiar Gift of the Givers delivery vehicles brought smiles and gratitude to hundreds of orphaned and vulnerable children recently.

A partnership between the Ithembalethu Outreach Project and the Gift of the Givers Foundation has seen the regular donation of food parcels to 200 children, and at times, the elderly or ill patients as well.

On October 1, volunteers from both organisations were back on the ground in Wembezi, Rensburgdrift and Colita, supplying much-needed grocery items to recipients.

However, they were not alone this time. Representatives from Anglo American were present to oversee, assist and ‘capture’ the donation. Anglo American sponsored 200 large food parcels, which were packed with essentials to last a family of four for a month.

The appreciative recipients came prepared with wheelbarrows, crates and boxes to pack the items into before making their way back home.
