ESTCOURT KZN: Residents experience more water ‘challenges’

Residents in parts of Forderville, Loskop and Thembalihle have been experiencing water cuts and interruptions during the past days

Residents in parts of Forderville, Loskop and Thembalihle have been experiencing water cuts and interruptions during the past days.

In Forderville, a technical fault at the Canna Avenue pump station on October 13 caused widespread water cuts, with some residents still unable to access this essential source. The Al-Imdaad Foundation is continuing to supply affected residents with water.

Some residents in Thembalihle have also been left without water after cables were stolen from the pump station.

“We await service provider to assess the damages and do quotations for the required material. In the meantime, water tankers will be dispatched to the area to supply water,” commented uThukela District Municipality communications manager Jabulani Mkhonza.

In Loskop, residents were affected by water cuts due to a broken raw water pump. Mr Mkhonza says that a service provider was on site yesterday (October 16) and the affected communities would be receiving a steady flow of water from this morning.
