NEWCASTLE KZN: Rafferty accused, Mayor back in court today

Four days have been set aside for the 'fibre feud' trial - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week and next Monday.

Two high-profile cases will be heard today, as both the Rafferty murder and the ‘fibre feud’ matters continue in court.

Sibongiseni Madondo, the fourth accused in the murders of Glen and Vida Rafferty last August, is set to apply for bail in the Newcastle Magistrates B Court. The matter goes to trial in the High Court in January.

In the Newcastle Regional Court, trial proceedings will begin for Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba, Njabulo Mabaso, and Sgananda Shezi, and their respective legal representatives. Four days have been set aside for the trial – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week, as well as next Monday (October 18).
