ESTCOURT KZN: Hospital welcomes visit by KZN Legislature to vaccination sites

The delegation also visited the Forderville and Ntabamhlophe vaccination sites, and interacted with locals who were there to get their jab

A delegation from the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature visited Estcourt Hospital on August 26 to play an oversight role, as mandated.

The visit came at a time when the institution has just started vaccinating people aged 18 and above to boost the ‘herd immunity’ programme. The delegation was led by Mr SC Nkosi, who was joined by uThukela District Municipality Speaker Phindile Strydom and Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality Mayor Jabulile Mbele.

The delegation started by visiting the Estcourt Hospital vaccination site and they were taken through the vaccination process.

The next stop was the Covid ward, where the procedure that is followed when patients are admitted was explained. Clarity-seeking questions were answered by the hospital management, led by chief executive officer Nthandazo Bekenya.

A presentation on the vaccination programme status quo was done and the delegation was pleased with the progress made so far. They further made a commitment to assist in addressing challenges. The delegation also visited the Forderville and Ntabamhlophe vaccination sites, and interacted with locals who were there to get their jab.

People who are 18 years and above are urged to register and visit their nearest vaccination site to get vaccinated.
