Shanika was the only child of Sagel and Hailey Balsarang

Acaciavale Primary School (APS) Grade 4 learner Shanika Balsarang sadly passed away due to Covid-19 complications on Sunday (August 1).

The school paid special tribute to the learner at assembly this morning (August 3), with principal Mrs Roy describing Shanika as an angel who touched their lives and adding that this morning was the most devastating moment for her, the staff, family, friends and fellow learners.

“Our hearts at Acaciavale Primary School feel so heavy today. Words cannot express how sad we are,” said a teary-eyed learner.
