ESTCOURT KZN: Blood donors help exceed the target

Donors were encouraged to donate a pint of their life-saving blood between 11am and 6pm

To help increase blood stocks in South Africa, Estcourtonians rolled up their sleeves recently to contribute to the cause.

A community blood donor clinic was held at the Estcourt Methodist Church last Thursday.

Donors were encouraged to donate a pint of their life-saving blood between 11am and 6pm.

Mary Jane Zanele MaGumede Ndaba was glad to get the go-ahead to donate her 20th pint.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) set a target of 50 pints, and were super-appreciative when they went beyond this to collect 64 pints of blood.

Nonkululeko Mdakane donated her 12th pint of blood.

The next clinic will be held at the same venue, during the same hours, on August 13.
