NEWCASTLE KZN: Emadlangeni Municipality closes until ‘further notice’
In the wake of looming shutdowns across the province, Emadlangeni Municipal offices will be closed.
Municipal Manager of Emadlangeni Municipality, Stanley De Klerk has confirmed via social media that the municipal offices will be closed from today until further notice.
“This comes in the wake of looming shutdowns within the province. We urge the community to remain calm during this time and caution against the looting of shops and damaging of public infrastructure as these are criminal offenses which will be met by the full might of the law,” warned De Klerk.
He said the municipality also pleaded with the community to protect the economy of the town by maintaining law and order and reminded residents that the country is still on lockdown alert level 4.
“This prohibits gatherings, so we urge the community to adhere to Covid-19 regulations and avoid superspreader events,” he concluded.
