Ladysmith KZN: Yet another power outage leaves residents in the dark

Residents are fearful that they will have to endure yet another week without electricity

Another massive power outage today (June 23) has left residents without electricity yet again in the Observation Hill area.

The power went off late last night, plunging the area into darkness. Residents are wondering what is going on, as they were in the dark, literally for most of last week and the weekend. After only two days of having electricity, the lights are off again.

The municipality has experienced a similar problem to the one encountered last week, with multiple faults in a section of cable, this time in the Monument Road area. Electricians will be replacing that section of cable today.

It is hopeful that power will be restored soon for the ‘stranded’ residents.
