Ladysmith KZN: Copper pipes stolen in CBD

Piping was stolen from two premises, in Queen and Murchison Street

According to a businessman in Queen Street, copper piping from his building was stolen on Saturday, May 15. The businessman is left frustrated, as he says that scrapyard owners are encouraging theft by purchasing stolen copper pipes. He has opened up a charge and investigations are underway.

The businessman has another premises in Murchison Street, where copper pipes also went missing on Friday, May 21, leaving water gushing out. Hundreds of litres of water went to waste, as he looked on helplessly.
